About The Office of Military-Affiliated Communities (OMAC)

The Office of Military-Affiliated Communities (OMAC) at Stanford, part of the Vice Provost of Student Affairs, promotes an inclusive environment for military-affiliated members and allies. Its mission is to support, resource, and advocate for U.S. and international military-affiliated students, fostering understanding and connection within the community and with Stanford resources. OMAC is dedicated to honoring the sacrifices and contributions of military-affiliated individuals.

  • US Military Veterans
  • Active-Duty, Reserve, and National Guard Service Members
  • International students that served in their home country’s military
  • Immediate family members of individuals who served in the military
  • Students participating in Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC)

Stanford will be the premiere destination for military-affiliated students seeking a highly selective higher education experience where they not just belong, but thrive.

Connection Opportunities

  • Campus-OMAC - This listserv is to advertise OMAC-related events to all staff, faculty, and students.
  • Student-OMAC - This listserv is to advertise OMAC-related events to students only.
  • ROTC Cadets - For communications and announcements pertaining to ROTC cadets, advocates, and interested community members.
  • Stanford Military Service Network - We are a community of Stanford affiliates with military backgrounds who support each other and the Stanford community. We organize events and foster connections for mentorship, career changes, and business growth!
  • GSB Military Veterans - This group is for GSB alumni and students who have served or are currently serving in the military. The "Group Links" section offers ways for members to share their activities. Currently, there is a member list, a group discussion board, and a photo gallery. Your group can also include a blog, post documents, and create additional web pages.
  • First-generation and/or Low-income Alumni Network - We connect, inspire, support, advocate for, and celebrate all first-generation and/or low-income (FLI) alumni while building meaningful relationships within the Stanford community and showcasing the experiences, perspectives, and accomplishments of Stanford FLI alumni. Many student veterans join the military for a stable income, health, and education benefits, and are often the first in their families to attend college. This alumni network links you with students who share this experience and are committed to helping others succeed and achieve.
