Mission

Main content start

The Office of Military-Affiliated Communities (OMAC) at Stanford is a department under the Vice Provost of Student Affairs (VPSA) and is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for military-affiliated members of our community and allies. Our mission is to provide support, resources, and advocacy to help meet the unique needs and challenges faced by U.S. and international military-affiliated students. We strive to promote understanding and appreciation for the military experience and to connect members of the military-affiliated community with one another, with the broader Stanford community, and appropriate resources. We are committed to creating a community that values and honors the sacrifices and contributions of military-affiliated individuals.

What are some examples of the military-affiliated community?

  • US Military Veterans
  • Active-Duty, Reserve, and national guard Service Members
  • International students that served in their home country’s military
  • Immediate family members of individuals who served in the military
  • Students participating in Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC)
