Important Information Regarding COVID-19

How to use the GI Bill while attending Stanford University

  1. Please complete and submit an Enrollment Application to utilize GI Bill benefits for the 2020-2021 academic year.
    • Once this application is complete, the applicant will be directed to another site to securely submit required documentation to the VA Certifying Officer.

    • Students that wish to be certified for the 2019-2020 academic year (including Summer 2020), and have not already submitted an enrollment application, use this link.

  2. Submit the appropriate documentation, click here to see required documentation.

  3. Once the application is submitted, complete any additional action items to prevent a delay in payment. Click here to see additional steps. 

To request adjustments for terms of certification, contact the VA Certifying Officer as soon as possible. Failure to do so may result in a delay of payment or the student being indebted to the VA.

Medical Residents, Medical Fellows and Research Assistants Departmental letter verifying enrollment. Letter must be on official letterhead and include the following information:
  • Duration (Start/Stop Dates)
  • Cost of the program
  • Departmental point of contact
Tuition-Specific Scholarship Recipients

Award letters from the organization providing the scholarships. Letters must include the following information:

  • Amount awarded
  • Contact information for the organization providing the scholarship
  • Any term limitations (Ex. The scholarship may only be used during the Autumn 20XX term)
ADDITIONAL STEPS FOLLOWING THE ENROLLMENT APPLICATION
Chapter 30 Create W.A.V.E Account (Once certified, students must verify enrollment every month to receive a living stipend)
Chapter 31 Contact Third Party Contracting to create an account that will allow the  Vocational Rehabilitation office to submit payments onto your account
